Shane and Sam are so sweet! I had a great time photographing their gorgeous Cylburn Arboretum engagement session in Baltimore recently! These two met pretty early in their college careers at a party and have been together ever since! I love when I get to work with college sweethearts – there’s something really special about their relationship!

The Proposal

Shane and Sam got engaged earlier this year, on January 19th! During a check-in on their new townhome that was being built, Shane proposed to Sam on the front steps. Little did she know that her mom was hiding in the bushes and her family and friends were waiting to celebrate with them! She thought they were simply making a stop on the way to her friend’s 30th birthday party – and her whole life changed!! After she said yes and was surprised by her family, the two headed to their engagement party (which was definitely not her friend’s 30th birthday!). Shane and Sam will be tying the knot next June at the gorgeous Main Street Ballroom in Ellicott City, MD!

Cylburn Arboretum Engagement Session

Although you’d never know it, Cylburn Arboretum is located in Baltimore, MD. This gorgeous 200-acre venue was the perfect spot for Shane and Sam’s engagement session! The Arboretum provided some incredible backdrops for their portraits – and there was so much of the property we didn’t even explore. I absolutely love the white dress that Sam chose for our session. It popped perfectly against all of the gorgeous gardens. Between the gardens and the main house, we all had a great time walking around, talking about wedding plans, and laughing. Shane can make Sam laugh and grin easily – they made my job so easy! We lucked out with a truly gorgeous day and sunset during their session. A photographer couldn’t ask for more.
