Congratulations to Chelsea and Mike on the one year anniversary of their big day! I absolutely fell in love with these two during their Sugarloaf engagement session and couldn’t wait for their Glen Ellen Farm wedding day to come last September. And now it has…. and it was absolutely beautiful. Chelsea and Mike created a truly romantic fall wedding full of ivory, navy, and burgundy perfect for this time of year! I know Chelsea and Mike were so excited to finally tie the knot!!
Can you believe there was actually a hurricane the week leading up to Chelsea and Mike’s wedding? I know we were all anxious about how it would impact their special day, but thankfully we lucked out with a rain free day! Glen Ellen Farm is a great venue in Ijamsville, MD and it provided so many beautiful locations for portraits throughout the day. I absolutely loved photographing Chelsea getting ready on the porch of the main house! How sweet! It also turned out to be the perfect spot for her and Mike’s first look.
After their first look, we were able to capture many of the bridal party portraits and family portraits for the day. This meant that between their ceremony and reception, they were able to enjoy their cocktail hour with their guests! Because the weather was great, we were able to keep Chelsea and Mike’s ceremony outdoors! It was amazing!! The two chose to include a traditional Irish hand fasting ceremony – how special! I love when couples include something personal to them in their wedding ceremonies.
Then, it was onto the reception! Honestly their reception was just so much FUN! Everyone clearly came out to enjoy themselves and love on Chelsea and Mike! But, the newlyweds also made it so easy to have a good time. They chose some really awesome food for their reception (yes, chicken and waffles!!!) and even had a Pittsburgh cookie table! All of the Pittsburgh references in their reception were to honor their family, who’s from Pittsburgh. They even came out with a terrible towel and a Steelers jersey for their reception entrance! After all of the fun of the day was done, Chelsea and Mike had a gorgeous sparkler send off to end the night!
Congratulations again, Chelsea and Mike. I know you enjoyed your Bahamas honeymoon!! Thank you for letting me be a part of your incredibly beautiful and special Glen Allen Farm wedding day!
