Rachel and Mikey are married!! Their stunning Walker’s Overlook wedding day was full of personal touches and emotional moments… it was a perfect way to celebrate their relationship! Rachel and Mikey were actually my neighbors before we moved and we figured that out during our initial consult! So funny!!! I definitely couldn’t wait for their wedding day after I learned they were my neighbors.
When we chatted, Rachel told me all about their proposal. Last summer, Mikey proposed to Rachel on the dock by the pond at her parents’ house, somewhere that means a lot to them and their family. We actually ended up shooting their engagement session on her family’s property and took photos on the exact dock where Mikey proposed! Rachel told me how it was pretty funny because she was in a “sassy mood” that day and kept pestering Mikey about when they’d be getting married (while they were walking to where he was about to propose!). So it was a total surprise when he popped the question that same day! They had a great day celebrating with her family and couldn’t wait to start planning their fall wedding day.
Rachel and Mikey wound up with a truly gorgeous wedding day in September. It was the perfect fall wedding day! The planned a classic Walker’s Overlook wedding filled with elegant navy, grey, and some subtle blush touches. After getting ready and an emotional first look with her dad, Rachel and Mikey had their own first look on the front porch of the house. It was so touching. They were just SO happy to finally be getting married!
It was clear that they left their personalities everywhere throughout the day – from the fun tacos and margaritas during the reception, to the leather jacket Rachel had made. I love when my couples really work hard to make their day truly them! One of my favorite things about their reception was that they chose to have food stations all night instead of a standard dinner. It made the night exactly what they wanted, an AWESOME party! So much fun!
The beautiful day we had meant we had a truly incredible sunset that night. Sunset portraits were really important to Rachel and while I always pull my couples for a few last portraits before the sun goes down, I knew I couldn’t miss this sunset. Just wait until you see it! We had a lot of fun laughing and celebrating that Rachel and Mikey were married!! After the portraits, Rachel and Mikey headed back into their reception. They couldn’t miss the party! Their wedding band was out of this world. Seriously everyone loved them!!!
Rachel and Mikey, congratulations! Your wedding day was beautiful and I’m honored I was able to be a part of it!
