Trying to explain how much I loved working with Teddie and Mike might be impossible! This sweet couple was just a joy to photograph. Not only are they very much in love, which shows… but they’re just super fun. They don’t take anything too seriously and that makes my job even easier! Teddie and Mike had a beautiful spring Woodlawn + Pope Leighy House wedding in Alexandria, VA in April, filled with personal touches and sentimental moments I feel honored to have captured!
Teddie and Mike kept their wedding party small and intimate, but that didn’t mean they weren’t a blast! I started the day with the ladies, capturing Teddie getting into her wedding dress. She also chose to wear a wedding veil her mother wore in her wedding – as well as Teddie’s sister. What a sweet tradition!!! I know all of those moments were super emotional for the three of them, but so so special. After Teddie was dressed, she met Mike on the balcony for a first look. It was obvious how excited they both were to be getting married!
We lucked out with some incredible cherry blossoms on the edge of the property and Teddie and Mike were great sports about driving over for some portraits. I think it was SO worth it! After their portraits, it was time for their gorgeous outdoor ceremony. I loved that they kept the setup simple with a copper arbor with a few florals for decoration in front of the Woodlawn + Pope Leighy House. It was just perfect!!!!!
Teddie and Mike’s reception was absolutely stunning!! These two have the best style and their incredible planer, Allison Barnes Events, helped bring everything to life. The newlyweds chose to have a floral wall behind their head table. Uh, YES PLEASE! It was amazing!!!!! I’m still in awe of it. It was the best backdrop – and then photo booth type drop for their guests later on. With elegant ivory and blue details filling the tent, the green popped and brought attention to the new Mr. and Mrs.! With a romantic first dance and sweet cake cutting, their reception was just amazing!!
Congratulations Teddie and Mike! I hope you enjoyed your trip to Quebec and Spain! How fun to have a mini and full honeymoon!!! I’m all about that!!! Thank you for trusting me with your beautiful wedding day! I’m so happy I could be there for you two.
